Parent/STUDENT/Teacher Interviews

PLEASE REMEMBER TO SIGN UP FOR PARENT/TEACHER INTERVIEWS ASAP!

On January 23 (January 30 for Mrs. Housden), teachers will have a learning conference with each parent and student. This conference is considered to be the second formal report, therefore, it is especially important that each family has the opportunity to meet with their child’s teacher. The purpose of this conference will be to focus on your child’s learning goal(s), and to ensure a plan is in place to help them meet these goals.

EARLY DISMISSAL
On Tuesday January 23, 2018 students will be dismissed at 12:05pm to allow for conferences. Buses will also run early on this day so please ensure that you have made arrangements for your children.

BOOKING YOUR APPOINTMENT
Follow the instructions in the attached document to book an appointment with your child’s teacher online through Parent Connect.

Learning Outdoors

Our school goal this year is to, “Provide our students more opportunities to learn outdoors.” With the assistance of Hillcrest parents and the support of staff, we are building an outdoor learning space. Teacher Tammy Meerza and Aboriginal Support Worker Launa Payne lead the committee to make this dream a reality. Many classes are already using this learning space at least once a week. What we are finding is not only are our students engaged and active during their outdoor learning time, they are also more settled and prepared to learn when they return indoors. We will keep you posted on the progress of this project.
