Our school goal this year is to, “Provide our students more opportunities to learn outdoors.” With the assistance of Hillcrest parents and the support of staff, we are building an outdoor learning space. Teacher Tammy Meerza and Aboriginal Support Worker Launa Payne lead the committee to make this dream a reality. Many classes are already using this learning space at least once a week. What we are finding is not only are our students engaged and active during their outdoor learning time, they are also more settled and prepared to learn when they return indoors. We will keep you posted on the progress of this project.
