Stranger Alert
We would like to make parents aware of an incident that took place in the Hillcrest area in Salmon Arm on Saturday, Nov. 24. RCMP are investigating an incident where a child was approached by an unknown male. The child got away and the incident was reported to the RCMP.
The male is described as wearing black, with a British accent, grey beard and dark complexion. He was driving a small red car.
Carol-Ann Leidloff, School District No. 83’s Safer Schools co-ordinator, asks that parents in the area please be on alert and use extra precaution until the RCMP have completed their investigation.
If anyone has any further information about the incident please contact Salmon Arm RCMP at (250) 832-6044.
Winter Concert
Our Annual Winter Concert is just around the corner! This year EVEN numbered divisions will be performing on Wed Dec 12 and ODD numbered divisions will be performing on Thurs Dec 13. There will be two shows on both dates. An afternoon show at 1:00pm and an evening show at 6:30pm. Please note, doors will not be open until 6:10pm for the evening show. See you there!
Scholastic Book Fair – Dec 11-13, 2018
The Scholastic Book Fair will take place on December 11th, 12th and 13th. By purchasing books at the fair, you will be supporting our library. Up to sixty percent of sales can be used to buy new, engaging books for our students to sign out and read!
The book fair will be open in the library at the following times:
Tuesday, December 11th 2:00 – 3:00 pm
Wednesday, December 12th 7:45 – 8:15 am
12:00 – 1:00 pm
1:40 – 2:40 pm
7:10 – 8:00 pm (after evening concert)
Thursday, December 13th 7:45 – 8:15 am
12:00 – 1:00 pm
1:40 – 2:40 pm
7:10 – 8:00 pm (after evening concert)
For the book fair to be a success, we need volunteers to help with set-up on Monday morning, with sales during the fair, and with pack-up on Friday afternoon. Please contact Jennifer Reed (250-832-7195 or jreed@sd83.bc.ca) if you are able to help out at one of these times.

Breakfast Program Closed
Attention parents of students that participate in our Breakfast Program. Please note, due to renovations in our Multi-purpose room starting Thursday November 15, 2018 the Breakfast Program will be closed until further notice. We do not expect the renovations to take longer than two weeks, however, we will keep you informed as to when you can expect the program to be up and running again. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for doing your best to ensure your child comes to school on a full stomach during this time. Please remember that there is also food available in the office for students in need.
PAC Movie Night – “The Santa Clause”
Our annual FREE PAC Movie Night will be held in the Hillcrest Gym on Friday November 16 @ 6:00pm. This years movie will be “The Santa Clause”. Chips and bottles of water will be available for $1 each. Don’t forget your pajamas and blankets!
