Our school prides itself on, “providing our students regular opportunities to learn outdoors.” With the assistance of Hillcrest parents and the support of staff, we were able to build an outdoor learning space. Teacher Tammy Meerza and Aboriginal Support Worker Launa Payne lead the committee to make this dream a reality. Many classes have scheduled in outdoor learning time at least once a week. What we are finding is not only are our students engaged and active during their outdoor learning time, they are also more settled and prepared to learn when they return indoors.
